1978 automatic RHD 4-berth Westfalia • SOLD
| In 12 years of being in the VW world I have never seen such a solid right hand, drive 4-berth Westfalia. You can tell this van spent all it's life living in sunny Australia, and it's very rare to see them in the UK as they usually go straight to Oz from Germany and stay there! It's super solid, has never been welded and needs none either. If you compare it to any 1978 right hand drive Westy from the UK you'll find it hard to believe that it's never been welded!
The interior is the original Westfalia campmobile interior and is in good condition, it's all original and looking as 'retro' as they come. It has a 2-ring gas burner, sink, on-board water tank, compressor fridge, full-width rock-and-roll bed, rear seat belts and gas heater under the rock-and-roll bed. It has a 2000cc engine which was replaced 2 years ago with a new one, it starts (and runs) like a dream. What makes this van very rare is the fact it has an automatic gearbox, the torque converter was replaced with the engine and it drives like new, it pulls very well and is a pleasure to drive. We can convert this camper back to a manual for an extra cost of £1500, but in our opnion, once you drive it you'll love cruising with an auto. The van comes with 12 month's MOT, 6 month's tax, iPod stereo, 3 month's mechanical warranty and a compressor fridge. |
