| This is, without doubt, the best looking new Brazilian camper we have ever built.
When Glenn and his family first came to view our range of custom, hand-built Brazilian camper conversions, I knew straight away he was going to own the best looking van we’d ever built. He’d seen the work we’d done for other customers and was very impressed, so he gave us the task of making his dream become a reality - take a basic new Brazilian and turn it into masterpiece that would make people stop and stare. We didn’t disappoint. We started with the colour, a retro, classic-looking brown, and we got it spot on. It was a 1954 VW Beetle colour that flips different shades in different lights and looks absolutely amazing. We also converted the roof shape to one of our original Westfalia roof conversions, this gives the benefit of being able to sleep two adults up there, unlike any other roof conversion on the market. The roof canvas colour was matched to the colour of the van and compliments it very nicely indeed. All the upholstery inside matches, including the front seats, which are fluted and piped. To do upholestry like this is very time consuming, but is so, so worth the effort. Looking at the pictures, you also notice the captain’s swivel seat and colour coded dash, little details that make a big difference. The cooker, sink, compressor and fridge were fitted and all ready for camping adventures. One thing that Glenn wanted in particular was more responsive steering, so we set about making this van as close as possible to an original German camper by removing the Brazilian steering box and replacing it with a new German steering box, this was no mean feat and took many days to get it looking as if it had come straight out of a VW factory. The steering is now more responsive, and looks original, so we now offer this as a service for all Brazilain campers, left OR right hand drive (call for more details). All in all, we created a real ‘head turner’ of a van, made a customer’s dream come true, and had loads of fun in the process. |
